    Help removing pedals

We bought a new e30 for cheap cause the clutch master cyl was bad. We replaced it and it broke within a few minutes. With some looking around we found that the pedal assembly was cracked allowing the clutch pedal to angle and cause the MC to break.
We now have a set of replacement pedals but can't figure out how to pull the old ones.
We took out the 4 nuts in the back but can find any others that are holding it in place, other than dropping the sterring column. Help!

I had this exact same problem a couple months ago http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=225028 I didn't have to drop the steering column to do it. There are 3 or 4 bolts that hold the pedal box from the top by the SI board and the 4 bolts that hold it to the firewall. You will have to remove the cruise control switch bracket from the pedal box too. You will also have to remove the springs that hold the gas pedal too. When I pulled out the pedal box I took it to a welder and had it welded instead of buying/salvaging a new one, than I put it back in and it was good as new. On the attached image is where the bolts are located. Don't forget to remove the bolt from the brake pedal as well. Now the attached diagram is for my car which is a 1987 325is, I've heard pedal boxes can vary depending on model, if you go to this website http://realoem.com/bmw/ you can track down your year and model of car and find out if your pedal box is identical. Good luck, it looked a little intimidating when I first did it, but I took my time and got it right the first time.:D

Thanks man. We did end up pulling the column since there was noooo visible acces to the upper bolts. The new assembly didn't have that extra tab up front but it mounted right up. Replaced the clutch master and slave cylinder while we were in there. Thanks.
