fried my starter solonoid?? cant find the problem

so long story short, i found the problem to my non working blower/window problem..my dumbass forgot to connect the little wire to the top of the starter solonoid. i was so eager to get it bolted on, i accidently took off the big red cable when it was live and it gave a large spark when it touched one of the other starter solonoid posts. since then i cant get a or anything. i checked all my grounds, fuse, fusable link on the battery cable, relays, and everything seems to check out.

did i just toast my starter solonoid from the spark? i checked the red cable and it is showing 12v.

anything else i should check before i buy a new starter?..probably due for a new one anyways.

ya, it sparked, freaked me out so i unhooked the battery, got all the cable contacts cleaned and bolted up properly, hooked up the battery and now when i try to turn it over, i just get that click from the relay and nothing else. thats when i checked everything.

before the spark the car would turn over with no problem, not a single hickup. i was convinced it was a fuse, but all of them looked good to me.

I don't see the solenoid being damaged by that. But the current surge could have caused a problem with a primary power or ground connection or with the battery. The first check should be to see what the battery voltage is. 12.7v would be a fully charged battery and 12.2v would be a battery at 50% charge. A battery at half charge or may not be able to start the car. If the battery looks to be good, check all of the primary power and ground connections.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
