one month + cold = dead battery

So. . . my '89 325i was sitting parked on my block since before New Year's. I went out to check on it and it won't even turn over. . . the power locks don't even work.

Will a jump and a drive mend it or is this battery that I bought not more than a few months ago going to dead forever no matter what I do?

Hmm strange. Ive had my car parked for that long with a wicked old battery in the fall (cold nights) and it started up no issues.
Ma che cazzo state dicendo? :|

Mine just did that, but I have no idea how old the battery is. Something simple like getting out of the car and forgetting to turn off the overhead light will kill a battery over time too. In my case I was working in the dark on the interior for days straight, and the overhead light on for 10+ cumulative hours killed it.

You can recharge the battery and it should be fine. You would have to drive it for a very long time to get a full charge on a dead battery. Like driving from Boston to New York (well, maybe not that far, but you get the idea.)

If you do a jump, you may find that even with the jumper cables attached it won't turn over. Don't panic. Just leave the jumper cables hooked up for 5 minutes with the other car rev'ed, and the battery should get enough voltage to allow a crank.

I have a battery recharging thingy that I use. Maybe a friend or someone has one. Just don't hook it up wrong, or directly attach the negative to the battery negative. Battery could go BOOM.
