    Issues with Trunk Lock

I am the proud owner of an 89 325i Coupe, other than the occasional hickup she gives me no problems. EXCEPT for one glaring one..I cannot for the life of me lock the trunk.
CL works fine if i use it from the drivers door, It locks and unlocks the doors just fine, just not the trunk.

The issue is with the push button lock. Everything I've seen has the slot in the lock for the key like this __ mine will not turn from this | I try and put the key in the lock and it goes in about half want then stops like the key is too long. I can push the button in and the trunk unlocks just fine. I've tried spraying WD-40 to the tumblers and also around the outside. I don't really want to pull the lock cylinder out unless I absolutely have to because it looks to be a pain.

any suggestions or ideas would be great.

I have the same problem, only my trunk wont UNLOCK. Mine is even to the point were the button itself is seized. You may need to take the cylinder out and give it a good dose of dry graphite. If that dosen't work, Pelican Parts sells new trunk button assemblies for 70-100 bucks. It is a lot of money for such a small part but at least there out there...

Mine goes in fine but doesn't pop back out either, I have to physically push the cylinder out from inside the trunk as well, not sure if that could be related.
