    e30 bucks under acceleration/deceleration

when i let off the gas it makes a clunk noise and when i put on the gas it bucks slightly. almost like the driveshaft is loose or something. i'm wondering if this means the guibo is bad?
if i press the gas and let off over and over again i can get the car to buck wildly and it makes a very loud clunking noise.
i had the driveshaft out recently and the guibo looked ok. no rips or anything.
it really feels like there's major play in the driveshaft.

diff mount? trans mounts, could be torn and not look like it when the car is at rest because there is no torque on them to pull one way or another

well the thing is it didn't do this before i had the driveshaft out. so i'm thinking it's not a bushing because those tend to wear down over time instead of just randomly going out.
can the u joints just get loose randomly? how do you check them without removing the shaft

The way I normally check for u-joint play is to jack the rear end up and set it on jack stands. Chock the front wheels so the car doesn't move, then put the car in neutral. Crawl under the car and start to twist the driveshaft while feeling each joint and checking for lateral movement in each joint. you should be able to see and hear where the slack is at.

ok thanks. i'll check it today.
assuming the u joints are bad what are my options? are they serviceable or do i need to replace the whole shaft?
also am i risking anything by driving it as is?
