    cool boneyard find

Yesterday I went to a boneyard to grab a few misc things I needed and while I was picking I noticed the cars ecu sitting on the floor below the gove box. I decided to take a shot in the dark and opened it up and to my surprise there was an AC Schnitzer chip in it. Needless to say that came home with me. BUT can anyone tell me anything about these chips? In the past I've used the bavauto chips and been pleased but is there anything I should know about with this chip prior to using it?

    TIA,

Make sure the ecu you took it out of matches the one in your car.

No I did check that. Their both 87' E's and ecu's ending with 027 so it should be ok. BUT other than that how are the schnitzer chips compared to the bavauto chips? Are they similar in performance gains etc?

That's weird? I was there again today and had a 20 min conversation with him and the other guy there. I did have it on the counter yesterday while paying for everything and two of his friends walked in from the yard and even mentioned how I had just found it. I assumed they had talked to you because I had just walked up to the office. I'm gonna check my receipt to see if he DID charge me? For the $25 cost of an ecu there it's still worth it all day long and no need to steal it walking in with $500 in my pocket to spend. Lol small world though huh!

Yeah, it was the younger kid working behind the desk, he said some guy stole a 600 dollar chip from the 325e down in the yard....I dont think its 600 bucks, but w/e those guys are jerks, they wont use their loader for that engine unless its midweek, exactly when I cant get up there

A $600 chip!! LMAO! It isn't out of a mclaren F1 for christ sakes! That's too funny! I wonder why they never mentioned it to me? We were even talking about how I was there the day before pulling parts off of that car.. actually I may swap out the rack I got for the one that you were telling me about and they said no prob. Oh well... water under the bridge now. So what do they expect you to do with that block toss it on your back?

Just an FYI: ACS never made any chips for regular M20's. And especially never made anything for the Eta.
Chip you have found is an eBay special. No biggie its still got gains over your stock chip just not an ACS or even name brand.

I ran across a vert in the local yard and realized it had belonged to a guy I knew. I remembered him saying it had a dinan chip...sure enough, still in there. Free chip ftw!
