    please help!!! SI board fried, replaced it, still problems

    last week my si board fried on the way home from work, i got a new board, just installed it and everything is still messed up....my speedo reads 140 mph adn will slow a bit when i hit the brakes, my tach works but my instant mpg gauge only reads 0 and 40......wtf......im out of ideas

    Was that a really new SI board (as in from your dealer), or a used SI board (as in from a salvage yard? If the latter, get a truly new board from your dealer and see what happens.

    That said, the speedometer should not be affected by the SI board. That would make me think that there are other problems in the cluster.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      it was a used board from rares in arizona....when the board originally fried there was smoke from right over the steering column....i pulled it and it was defintley fried.....

        Smoke from the cluster??? There may be more wrong than just the dead SI board. Pull the cluster, disassemble it and check for other damage. Also check the wires that connect to the cluster for damage. Then check the fuses.

          i just pulled the speedo from the cluster and found burn markers on the back...
