    Rear "clunking" On Hard Acceleration

Since I'm not sure what the problem is it's going in this forum.

Exactly like it says, if I accelerate a little too hard from stop then there is a kind of clunking like some light hammer taps or something, usually only in first but sometimes it'll do it a little in second. Sounds like it has coming from something behind the transmission like the rear diff or something?

It almost sounds like something is slipping and catching a few times pretty fast depending on how hard I push it.

Any ideas or help would be great, thanks!

I had a feeling it was the Guibo/csb and I've been meaning to replace em just need to find the funds.

Cv could make sense as well..

Is it relatively easy to inspect either of these?

You should be able to visually inspect your guibo from underneath the car iirc.

He will be able to. You'll see threads sticking out of your guibo if its on its way out, or if its already gone. Not sure how much center support bearings go for, but guibos are like 20 bucks.

You can get a CSB for around $15-$30 via pelican/bma...

              Any vibrations at speed?

Guibo is like 35 and CSB kit is like 54 (I heard go for the kit it'll be worth it in the end) and I'm not gonna do all that and not replace the tranny mounts.

As for vibration at speed, not at speed, but at around 3k RPM something in my driveline vibrates, been trying to figure it out for a while. What's weird is that it will vibrate, stop, vibrate, stop, usually longer vibration with a small stop and then start again.

Could a worn guibo cause this?

When mine was doing this i had a new CSB shipped. After removing the drive shaft, i found that the threaded ring was way loose and the splines were very dry.

A little grease and a good tightening eliminated that maghine gun sound in first and second gear.
EDIT: I wasted my money on a CSB.

sounds like the axle, my car made the same sound. the axle may look fine, but you have to take it out and wiggle the joint then you'll feel that its actually worn.

I really hope it's not the axle... I don't doubt that I'll find a pretty shredded guibo though, had a feeling for a while. Spent too much time on my wheels today and washing her to get to the underside

This isn't necessarily true. When I replaced my guibo there weren't any threads sticking out but it had cracked completely through.

I googled some images of worn guibos and got a pretty idea of a bunch of different things to look for. Hopefully I'll be able to see enough of it to know.
