No power windows or headlights, no blown fuse?

So my low beams and windows died last night while I was driving. There are no blown fuses and I've reseated all of the relays. You can hear the relay click when you pull the switch for the lights, but no lights turn on.
The window switches do not light up, so there's no power going to the switches. What am I missing? I've been looking for a bad ground but I don't really even know where to start with that.

Using the wiring diagrams from http://wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm start tracing out the circuits to see what is going on. A DMM is the best tool, but a test will work.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Do the lights on your HVAC panel light up?
        Replace headlight switch.
