    Greatttt, rear end winding sound

So I've been having a winding sound in my rear end and I think it's getting louder...Soo should I change fluid? Diff?

Rear bearing likely. You could change it yourself.....if you're lucky with basic tools and a slide hammer.

95% chance you'll need specialty tools like a bearing removal/installation tool. $250 or you can pay a shop to pull it for you for the same price. I'd opt for the former as you'd have an opportunity to collect a tool!

Start with the fluid, see what happens. E30 rear ends are a little louder than most cars.

And by winding you mean whining? Yes, change the oil. Do you even know the last time it was changed? Put some Redline 75W-90 in it. If oil doesn't doing quiet it up after a few hundo miles its probably input/output bearings.

Just got fresh bearings in the front and rear. And nah I have no clue the last time it was changed but the car was definitely neglected before so it's probably been awhile. So I'll get on that!
