    Draining engine coolant

Anyone has tips for successfully draining coolant without making a mess? The anal landlord don't want me to dirty his concrete.

You can easily drain the radiator w/o making a mess. The block, not so much. You will make a mess when you drain the block. If you can't drain it on the driveway, take the car somewhere that you can drain the block.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

throw a basin under your radiator, pull out the bottom hose and let it drain out!

here's how to do it without a mess

-get a big black garbage bag
-cut the bottom with sum scissors
-tape the bottom of your new "funnel" to your bucket/basin
-hold the top of the funnel under the block drain while you loosen it up
        easy as pie

I used a cheapo baby pool from Walmart, it caught everything.

I take a 20oz bottle and cut the large end at an angle. Using both hands, you can unscrew the bolt quickly place the cut end of the 20oz bottle over the block/hole. Then you can aim the flow into bucket. Don't try this while the coolant is hot, you will get burned.
