electric intermittent

First i noticed the red glow at night on the ic (with lights on) to disappear after a bump on the road and reappear after another. then the wipers started to do the same: just stop and after a bump restart. annoying!

Any connections between these two nasty glitches?

It's hard to say. I would check your fusebox to make sure everything looks ok. Also check that your battery cables and alternator connections are tight and free of corrosion. Do all of your lights turn off?

Intermittent symptoms like what you are describing are usually caused by cross shorts and/or bad grounds. Check for either.

yes agree: but wheres that faulty grd most likely? all my lights turn off! i suspect the durn ic again, but the wipers ? ....

Get some wiring diagrams and go to town with a DVOM. Work your way through the circuits looking for excessive voltage drop. I bet its the gorund(s).
