What Should I do/Parts for an Engine Swap

Looks like im going to be able to get this engine into my 325ix next weekend.

What should I do/parts while doing this swap? other than the usual:

    Motor mounts
    Transmission mounts
    timing belt
    water pump
    Clutch?
    Rear Seal?

Any other items please let me know and be ANAL about it!

This is going to be one of the nicest 325ix running!

Exhaust manifold gasket (from manifold to downpipe, not between manifold and head)

Make sure you get a clutch kit w/ all the extras. BavAuto.com has good complete clutch kits.

Meow, keep in mind that any old M20b25 from a non-IX car isn't going to just slip into your IX platform like a 1970's thai hooker meow...
it needs to be IX specific or you're in for a world of meow hurt.

The best thing I found to do is actually start the swap before buying anything. Of course ideally you would buy everything you need beforehand so the swap can go seamlessly, but in my case, I never ever manage to remember everything beforehand and in addition, I find extra things wrong that I didn't know about before, so I end up ordering more stuff anyway.

Looks like you've got the big ones there. Oil change, coolant flush, replace any suspect hoses, rear main and clutch as well if you can do it. It will save you having to replace them down the road.

By the way, I am stoked that you are fixing this thing. Best of luck.

Forum member is coming down from Charlotte to help me on this project. I would like to kill it in one day hence I need the parts before.

I know you gurus have parts list recommendations.

                    So far:

                    Rear Main Seal
                    Trans and motor mounts
                    Water pump
                    Clutch
                    Timing Belt

                    ??

throw in a clutchfan/new rad/thermostat/guibo if you got the funds since everything is comming out anyhow.

Cam seal, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, oil pump rebuild/replace if you can.
