I know, not ANOTHER no-start thread...

So here's my deal: I was driving my car around fine for a few days after finally fixing the clutch, but on the 5th morning I go to start it, and it sputters after a couple seconds, and thereafter no more ignition. It didn't take me long to figure out the fuel pump wasn't running. I'm glad I did some tests before putting down cash for a new pump, because that wasn't the problem.

I've google searched the shit out of this problem for the last 3 days, and I'm at my wits end. Here's what I've figured out so far.

The fuel pump relay is getting power from both the battery and from the ECU, but it doesn't 'click' on when it's supposed to, even though it's getting more than enough voltage to close the circuit between 87 and 30 (I tested it with a 9v battery, and clicked with a reading of only 6v). It's getting battery voltage at terminals 85, 86, 30; and obviously not at 87 because the circuit isn't closing.

The main relay is stranger. It's getting voltage at all terminals, until I put the key in 'run' position (in which position the fuel relay is supposed to click on). At this point voltage at 85 (which is the negative for the control circuit that actuates the relay) drops down to around a whopping 1 volt.

Is the voltage drop in the main relay normal? Is it supposed to be like that?

I really don't know what else to try. :curse:

The main relay is acting exactly as it should. When the key is off you will see system voltage at 85, but that will drop low when the DME grounds the relay coil to turn on the relay. The fuel pump relay works the same way. When the DME turns on the relay 85 goes low. But the fuel relay doesn't turn on when the key is in Start or Run. The DME controls the relay and only turns it on when timing data is being produced by rotation of the engine. Fuse 11 is between the relay and the pump. Check for power there when cranking the engine.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I found out pretty early on that my problem was my fuel relay not closing, and one of the things that informed me of the situation (besides the fact that it doesn't click) was that there was no power at fuse 11, and no power at terminal 87. Shouldn't it come on for a split second to prime the engine when the key flips to 'run'?

Also I should add that I have checked resistance at the CPS and ICV, and they both look like they're working.
