    Windshield wipers going crazy!!

So this started a few weeks ago on my way home from my first road trip in the e30. Was doing about 75 on the interstate and my wipers and washer fluid just came on by themselves. Pulled over and unplugged wash tank, took off and when I got to speed the wipers came back on. So I ended up pulling the fuse for the rest of the trip. Well once home I put the fuse back in and it only happened when at interstate speed "sometimes".

Currently they just stay on if the fuse is in at any time, any speed. I need to fix this so driving in the rain isn't dangerous. If someone can point me in the right direction I would very much appreciate it!!

    Thanks

Before buying anything, check the wiring harness thoroughly in front the radiator, towards the passenger side.

I had the exact same thing happen and replaced a few things, stalk/relay but nothing solved the problem.

Even though the wiper wiring isn't really in that area, the circuit thinks the wipers should be on since the fluid jets are on.

My wiring harness had worn through on a section of the body, 25 years of movement I guess. I pulled the front right headlights, heat-shrunk various wires, and re-wrapped the entire harness from maybe the center of the radiator through into "corner", where it branches off to the lights, washer bottle, etc.

That happened to me when spare fuses wedged themselves under the windshield washer relay. It happened to me in the rain! Every time I accelerated or hit a bump the fuse would wiggle back and forth jumping that relay.
