    Fuel in A/C lines?

I'm deleting my ac and there seems to be fuel in the lines, I read that some 87's come with a fuel cooler but how do I delete the ac and get rid of this completely ?

(top 2 metal lines near the heater core cover and the hose thats on the windshield has gas)

Delete the A/C lines and leave the fuel lines intact? No fuel will be in ANY A/C system line. Do the metal lines there go into the evaporator box?

looks like a fuel line to me. You need some more detailed photos.

Fuel in a/c line doesn't make any sense at all.

apparently it has a fuel cooler that works when the ac is running

You can remove the lines completely. Just run new rubber lines from the frame rail to the engine. If you've never replaced them chances are you need them anyway.

That's a relatively common issue with the fuel cooling system.. The line breaks down internally where the fuel passes through to be cooled, hence fuel gets pumped into the A/C system.

              Sounds like some over-engineering.

^^I guess it was an odd-ball thing they wanted to test on street cars.. If I remember right it only came on 6-8 months worth of cars produced for the '87 model year. Definitely over engineered.

Had those on my '87is too, from what I remember it was something that was supposed to reduce emissions somehow by cooling the fuel before it went back to the tank. Just pull off both those hard lines off the firewall, and replace both the rubber lines leading to them with one hose like MR 325 said.
