    My car did that the other day, after I changed the batrery... then the head gasket died... go figure :p I know they got nothing to do with each other but hey :)

      I was actually going to post a very similar thread about my car. Now that the nights are getting cooler (~0 C here), my car has been a bitch to start. It will crank and fire very easily, but it cannot hold an idle.

      I try to maintain it above 1k rpm but it is extremely rough and bumpy. The whole car just shakes. My issue is probably related to the coolant temperature sensor. At operating temp (80C), the resistance of the sensor is supposed to be from 270-400 ohms. Mine is at about 240. It's not off by much, but it's still out of spec.

      Give that a shot, or check the bentley for some more troubleshooting.
