    Intake Boot trouble

    Hey Guys,
    I need some serious help.
    1. I ordered an 87 325i intake boot for my dads E30 and it was the wrong intake boot. BMA assured it would fit an 87 but his 325 has another hole to connect a wire. A total of 3 I believe. Where can I find the right boot for this?
    2. I went to look if the boot they sent would work on my 318is. 91' and I realized I have a gaping hole in my boot. The larger nipple on my intake elbow is missing whatever goes into it. It is on the bottom side and is just open. I can't find what hose or whatever should be in there is? I looked at REALOEM and the diagrams don't show what should be connected.

The car runs fine/okay at the moment but WTF, where and what hose is suppose to go in that hole?
PLEASE HELP Quickly, this is my DD.

This is the boot I have on my 318is and I the front nipple, the one on the left in the picture is connected to the ICV like it should be. The 2nd however has no connection, it doesn't seem to be making much suction, even when I cover the air box. The car wants to stall like normal. It seems to run pretty good, and thats why I never noticed. I dont see any hoses that should be connected to this 2nd nipple. Could the P.O. have replaced the intake boot with the incorrect one? When I google M42 intake boot the boots seem to only have 1 nipple for the ICV.

Go to realoem.com, plug in the last 7 of the car's VIN, and get the part number of the intake boot. Then order that part.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Cool, thanks. Didnt even think about that for the 87 325i. Do you know whats going on with the 318is intake boot? It has 2 nipples instead of 1. I don't know what should go in there.

My suspicion is that you have the wrong part for the 318is. Go to realoem.com...

I believe I know what you speak of and my 318is has the exact same port/hole/plug whatever and it is completely un-used. I'm not sure what it is for but I think it's normal for it to be have anything connected..

The 318is boot extra hole has to do with which of the 2 throttle body styles you have. The later M42s had a throttle body where the air tube from the front of the valve cover pluges directly into a port on the lower portion of the throttle body. If you have this and get a new boot (which now all have 2 ports) you'll have to plug the extra hole. There is a plug you can buy - 13541739249. If you have the earlier M42 the air tube from the valve cover plugs into the 2nd hole in the boot as there is no port on the throttle body itself.
