    Cluster questions

Today, I put a new SI Board in my car, hoping to fix my Tach and Econ. However, it did not, not only did it not fix the problem, now my fuel gauge doesn't work. I took the cluster back out and made sure everything was in right, checked my fuses, and everything was fine. What is the problem? Also since I changed the SI Board, my rear windows stopped working.

Ok, that is the correct board for your car. Have you check the ground nuts in the back of the fuel and tach gauges? I am not sure about your rear windows because the SI has nothing to do with that. Did you have all the cables reconnected to the cluster? Also, check to make sure that the batteries are fully charged. Your SI board will not charge the batteries if they are are exhausted.

Can you post a pic of where the ground nuts are? Yeah, i connected all the cables to the back of the cluster. I just figured the batteries were good since it was a new board.

Even new board can have bad batteries...who knows how long these boards have been sitting on the shelf. Check them with a volt meter. Here is the link to show you the ground nuts.

One of the ground nuts is really rusted and kinda bent. Its the one by the blue connector.

OK, the gas gauge is working now, but still no tach/econ. I feel like i wasted my money on a new SI board.

Did you check the other ground nut? There are two of them, one for the gas and one for the temp. Return the board to Bavauto and exchange for another one.

Yeah, I checked both of them, and they both work. I'm going to return the board tomorrow. Hopfully the next one will fix the problem.
