Alright guys, I have replaced my pads and rotors and bled the breaks. But when I step on the brake, the car doesn't slow down for shit. Mean while my car idles a little weird when its stopped and I stick it in revurs. It trys to die. The only think that comes to my mind is a bad Break booster. What do you guys think.

A hard pedal means that the booster isn't working. That could be a bad booster or a lack of vacuum. From the way the engine behaves the odds are that there are intake leaks, which will reduce the vacuum available for the booster. A smoke test of the intake will tell if there are leaks and where they are. If the hard pedal persists after fixing the intake leaks the booster check valve or the booster (or both) are bad.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Were the brakes working correctly before the maintenance you did? If they were, it seems unlikely that the booster just happened to die while changing your pads and rotors. But I agree, it does sound like a bad booster or vacuum issue. Did you mess with the MC, changeover valve or booster at all or only change pads, rotors and bleed? Did you pressure bleed, how much pressure?
Also, please spell brakes correctly so it makes sense.

In case you aren't familiar with a smoke test, the procedure is:
Plug the exhaust and insert the adapter for smoke injection where the AFM connects. Then feed in smoke until you have a pressure in the intake of 2-3psi. Hold that pressure for at least 5 minutes to allow the smoke to reach all leaks. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

OK so I did a smoke test and the smoke was coming from the throttle body side wholes. where the mettal fittings are for the brake booster. Where is the best place to but the check valve and hose? Pelican doesn't have them for some odd reason.Last edited by Paukert11; 05-12-2012, 07:21 PM.
