Idle Problem & Check Engine Light off/on

I recently was working on my 318is (changing the CSB on the drive shaft), and the car sat for about 2 months or so while it was on stands. I had very little gas in the tank. Maybe 1/8th or less.

After completing the job, the car shows interesting symptoms. When I start it, the Check Engine light will be on and the car can idle. As the car starts to drive, the Check Engine light will go off, but then the car hesitates, misses and can no longer idle. The light will come back on if you let it sit for a bit and then the car can idle again.

I had a few thoughts as to what the issue could be. I was thinking it could be bad gas, but I filled up the tank with fresh gas, which did seem to help a bit. It also may be the O2 sensor, but I tend to think that's strange as I didn't have any problems before letting the car sit for two months. I did change parts of the intake boot, so perhaps there's a leak somewhere?

I'm okay with taking it to a shop, but wanted to see what the forum thought as to what could be going on.

I'm not sure what is happening, but the first thing I'd want to rule out would be intake leaks.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks to you both, but this was the issue. Not sure how I missed the vacuum leak, but that solved the problem!
