    help! cooling system bleeding

    my e30 was running rich cuz my thermostat was out so I put it back in....now Its not circulating again. I lifted the drivers side corner up a foot, left the reservoir cap off and turned on the heater and let it run, opening the screw evey so often, a little air came out...ran fine for a while so I decided to cap the reservoir and take it for a road test...soon as i put the cap back on coolant started pouring out of the overflow tube

    Im guessing jacking the car up is some trick I do not know.
    SO let the car cool down. Open bleed air screw a fair amount. Begin to fill up the over flow bottle. Then go and masage the lower hose to get fliuid moving around. Repeat as needed til full
    Then close bleed screw
    run car and heater and all that.
    Then with coolant cap on crack the bleed screw. A good tip is to make sure the upper hose is nice and firm meaning the tstat is open and flowing.

      I had an air bubble once near the tstat. Took a little bit to get it to move to get the coolant to open up the valve. Stupid M44.

        sucks, cuz I go thru this everytime I drain the coolant

          if you want to relieve some of these issues, I believe some people reccomend drilling 1 or 2 1/8" holes in the thermostat

            I had done this with my tstat...worked great for bleeding the system. The only drawback is that it will take longer to warm up the car in colder climate region.

              Imma try to avoid, drillin the hole if i can.....shes runnin bigger injectors chip and 255 pump so i dont need it runnin an richer than necessary...never tried massaging the lower hose before (always mess with the upper hoses). when I fill the reservoir nothing seems to come out the bleeder screw till i start it, like a huge air bubbles holding it back
