    Is my waterpump bad?

Been tryin to bleed this cooling system for two days now after putting the thermostat back in. I pour coolant in the tank til it hits the line, but it never drops...i know your supposed to fill til it comes out the bleeder screw but it never does, massaging the hoses does nothing but squeeze fluid into the tank from the recirc. So I assume theres just air in the system...I turn it on running it till stuff does come out the bleeder, but air never really comes out. after a while the heat starts pumping so I open the bleeder and its good. Once I put the cap back on it "coolant fountains" and starts pouring out ov the overflow tube and when i open the bleeder again its pouring coolant and at this point the vents start blowing cold air...there are no leaks and the temp guage never overheats

Could be a bad tank cap.

"vents start blowing cold air..." which vent are you talking about? It sounds like you have a lot of air trapped in the system. Have you checked to make sure that your rad is free and clear? Did you drill a vent hole in your tstat as suggested? Typically, I would have the bleed screw wide open then manually fill the rad with coolant until there is no more air coming out of the bleeder screw. The reservoir is filled up and capped then perform the bleeding procedure as described by jlevie. Your pump is making noise because it pumps coolant then air then back to coolant.

the interior vents put out cold air....think Im screwed from the start because when I fill the reservoir, nothin ever comes out of the bleeder the level just doesnt drop...started drillin a hole in the thermostat , then I broke the bit, so gave up...guess I can try another bit

interior vent blowing cold airs telling me that your heater core is completely clogged. Can you completely drain the coolant from your car? If yes, measure how much coolant. If you collect only a few liters then something is clogging up the system big time. You will have to systematically trace this problem one hose at a time.

Take the bleeder screw all the way out and make sure its not clogged. There should be a little hole near the bottom (on the conical section) and a hole in the middle of the screw at the top. Its like a brake bleeder.

ok, theres heat, but then when I put the cap on and shut the heat off the system boils over and starts running hot....the water pump is noisy and the lower hose never gets hot, but the upper does and the end of the rad near the upper hose also gets hot
