did a boil test on my thermostat to ensure that it opens, and it does....but for shits and giggle I decided to try and fit it in the side of the housing that unbolts with the thermostat open and the rod stickin out....doesnt fit

oops, ignore this post and my stupidity...rods not supposed to stick out...boil tested a brand new e thermostat that I have and it worked fine and the rod didnt stick out....wonder if I missed that the first time i tested the old statmay you rest in peace, or pieces, whichever comes first
