Ok, my 85 325e sounds like it has rocks bouncing around in it, 3rd is gone, and it leaks on the exhuast and smells.

Its time for a used tranny. I have looked into The Euro Depot, and found this:

$295 plus $55 shipping. The manager assured me that the tranny would be in good working order. Has anyone got a tranny from them?

There is a place local called Harouts in Long Beach, CA, they want $450. Both places have warranties. The Euro Depot is in NH which means regardless of expressed warranty, it would be a real bitch getting it replaced.

Do you think its worth the extra $100 to get it local? I mean thats a Z4 short shifter and all the required trimmings for a $100.

Also while Im here, what socket do I need for the bellhousing bolts? Are they hex or torx, and what size.

    Thanks Again

    Harouts is always over priced.

Put synthetic oil in the Euro Depot tranny and you won't have to worry about a warranty.

I just got my tranny from the eurodepot, it works great! The bellhousing bolts are female torx sockets, try to borrow a set from a friend, they are not cheap off the tool truck!
        -good luck

Make sure it has low miles too.

Try to get one that has less then 100k on it, Yes i am sure eurodepot has one. 8)

I just went to a store called "Harbor Freight Tools" and got a set of the female torx sockets for a pretty fair price but i dont remeber the exact number off the top of my head
