Fuel line leak near sending unit

    Hi
I have a leak on a line that seems to go from the fuel pump side to the sending unit side. It looks like old clear plastic tubing, but my guess it is steel line with patina. I only looked for a moment when I had about five spare minutes. This line does not appear to have a part number on realoem, and I am unsure where it starts and ends.

Anyway, the area near the sending unit was damp, but nothing obviously leaking. I guess the next step is to run the car with the access covers off to see something more obvious.

    Any likely culprits?

    Thanks
    Ross

theres an oring that fits between the brass cap and the sending unit that may be bad or just the four 8mm nuts have come loose...other than that its just the skinny line running all the way to the fuel rail or the fat line that runs to the fuel filter (or first to the inline pump if you have one)
may you rest in peace, or pieces, whichever comes first

The late model tanks have only a single steel line across the top of the tank that carries fuel. There is a plastic line across the top of the tank that is the return from the charcoal canister.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
