Help Please! Weird Grinding Noise :(

    Hello Everyone,

This morning I started up my car to a fairly loud grinding noise. I immediately turned off the car and popped the hood. The only things I saw out of order were small metal filings scattered throughout the engine bay and an alternator belt which felt a touch looser than normal. I feel like this noise may have started last night but I had no choice but to drive home, but this morning it is exponentially worse. I changed the timing belt as well as a few other maintenance components just over a month and haven't had any problems until now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Thanks!

Metal filings in the engine bay just about has to have come from one of the belt driven parts. Remove all of the belts and rotate each part to find the culprit.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks a bunch, really helps to have some sort of an idea where to look. This is my first car and I must admit it's a bit overwhelming at times. I'll look into it and see what I can find.

Seems to be the cam sprocket was loose and when it wobbled it was grinding. Hopefully this is the only problem, going to put it all back together again tomorrow and see.
