That is the sensor for the Cylinder ID signal on an M20B25 engine. It should be on the ignition wire for cylinder #6. The purpose of the sensor is to tell the DME at what position the crank is so that the DME can fire the injectors sequentially rather than in parallel. The engine will run okay without data from that sensor, but fuel mileage and performance will suffer.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
