    Power steering fluid leakin...

My question, from where? I get under the car and look, and most of the fluid seems to be dripping off the of the end of the steering column? My fluid was low to begin with, really low, actually. Got it back up, and will be keeping an eye on it though. Puddles have been forming pretty quick on the ground below my car though.

So, I'm thinkin one of the hoses have just gotten old and have begun leaking? Can anyone post one of those very helpful pictures showing all the components of the power steering?

If it is a hose, how hard would it be to replace, I'd probably need the drain the fluid, right?

    Thanks.

try tightening the clamps down first to see if it stops the leaking.

I had similar problem, tighted those return and outlet hoses on tank, and it stopped leaking. I knew they were leaking because, they were black, greasy, and if I touched lines, I would end up with fresh fluid on my hand.

Sweet, thanks for the tip. So, the lines coming right out of the power steering fluid tank (the resovoir?). If that's leaking, I'm guessing it rolls on down the line, and reaches the bottom of the powersteering and then drips down.

I'll see what I can do. Thanks a lot!

Chances are, those lines are 18 years old.

          Just replace them.

Better yet, do an intensive web search and find the cheapest price for OEM parts, then post it, I need to do this this spring anyway.

There's actually a local place here in town, Import Parts Specialists, damn good prices and I can pick stuff up too!!

            Yeah, you're probably right. ;)

            I'll see if I can't find a temp fix.

Does anyone have pics from that BMW Service CD or somethin? Better yet, can someone get me a copy of that? :D I just wanna figure out all the hoses I need to replace, all part numbers, and where everything is. That way I don't run into any surprises along the way.
