    Smells like gas...

No, it wasn't the bean burritos....

When I shut my car off and step out, I smell a very distinct hint of gas. I get down on my hands and knees underneath the car to try and get an idea of where it's coming from, but I can never pinpoint it. I assume it's by the fuel pump beneath the driver's side, but can't be certain.

It also seems like I'm losing fuel pressure in the lines after the engine is shut off (becacuse I hear the pump running the next time I start it up). This never used to happen before, but all of the sudden I've got these 2 issues.

This has all been going on for a few months now, but I've never noticed any gas leaking anywhere....

    Any thoughts?

    hoses

Check your fuel return and delivery hoses in the engine bay. Mine were cracked and leaking and it smelled of gas even when I turned the heat on in the car.

oh ya, I dont know if this makes any sense, maybe someone else can shed some light on it, but can't the "charcoal canister" or whatever that thing is called go bad and have a fuel smell?
