I recently noticed that there are supposed to be lights for the check panel. I put the bulbs (3) in for the backlighting, and it lights only if there is a problem or the test button is depressed, stays on for a sec. or two then off. is this normal? It had no bulbs to begin with so I just don't know what it normally should do.

A bulb that's lighted due to a problem should stay on until you fix the problem. The lights should also stay on as long as you are pushing the check button.

backlighting for the unit will only stay on for a few seconds after your press the check button. Otherwise it will not stay illuminated.Originally posted by turnofftheradioI dont mean the led's. I am referring to the backlighting for the unit. It lights up the letters and lines.
