"Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak" product

Well, when I was out buying new oil, filter etc, I came across this product on sale, so I picked it up.

Anyways, I just wanted to know if it will be safe to use in a E30, since our cars take ATF auto-trans fluid instead of power steering fluid.

Or if you have any experience with the product, feedback would be nice.

And don't leave comments if you are going to tell me to fix the problem the correct way, not the r3v way.
All I want to know is whether if such products will be safe to use in our system.

Not a big fan of Lucas products in older high mileage cars. They tend to cause seals to swell and eventually leak worse.

We're supposed to use auto tranny fluid for steering fluid? :loco:

          hmm that's not good!

But it can be mixed with ATF fluid?

I tried their stop leak, didn't help at all. You're better off removing the belt, if it's leaking bad.

nah not leaking bad at all. Just a slow leak that will require me to add some ATF every few months.
I guess it wouldn't hurt to try out this stuff. I was just worried because our cars take ATF, and I didn't know what the consequence of using regular power steering fluid additives would be.

i tried it and it stopped the leak, however its thicker fluid so i need to take some out and put more ATF fluid in, other then that it works good. stopped my slow leak.

Thanks! But I picked it up from Cambodian Tire while I was picking up the engine oil. It was only like 10 bucks anyway.

Try Valvoline ATF with Stop Leak. Worked great for me until I got around to replacing the steering rack.

I will update in few weeks on how the product is. The leak is/was very slow, so it was never something that would be noticeable within days. Either way, so far so good.
