    Fuel line replacement

The rubber line running from the driver's side of tank to the fuel filter on my car has a very small hole in it, allowing it to seep gas.

There is no access to the fuel tank end of the line, where it runs above the tank. Can I get to by loosening the fuel tank and tilting it a bit? I really don't want to remove the exhaust/driveshaft/heat-sheild. All the fuel in the tank will come out first, of course.

I also intend to replace all the rubber lines I can get at, they are looking pretty dry and crinkley (is that a word?).

    thanks

The rubber line doesn't run all the way over the tank. It ends right there under the car. Take a closer look. And if it really bothers you, you can get to the other end of it by taking out the bottom of the back seat.

replaced the hose... what a pita! It runs up the side of the tank, and slightly over, where you can't get a screw driver on the hose clamp! Luckily I have a buddy with a set of trick mini ratcheting bit drivers. These things are awesome. I don't know how else I could have got to that damn clamp...

You can't get to that particular hose through the hatch underneith the seat, by the way. Its on the driver's side, where the smaller hatch is. The hose links to one of the metal lines that passes underneith this hatch, but the hose and clamp are way over near the edge of the tank not accessible from the tiny hole.

Thanks for the tip though, appreciate it.

The hose was expensive.... CDN$0.76 an inch from bmw. Local parts store didnt have the right hose.
