    Moaning from passenger side wheel

    Hey guys.

Last week I noticed a strange moaning sound from the passenger side wheel of my car driving down the road. Im thinking its getting worse, but it could be me thinking about it to hard.

The sound only occurs when i turn the wheel right. The sound is slightly noticeable when going straight also. I took a look at the brake disk a few days ago and didnt really see anything out of the ordinary, but i could be wrong.

I thought I would post to see if anyone else had a sound like this and might know exactly what this is.

Here is a video of what it sounds like.

You will hear the sound come on and off cause i was steering left and right to show the difference.

I dont start swaying until about 35 seconds.

    Help please!

    Thanks in advance.

It sounds like wheel bearing is going bad.

^but wouldnt a bad bearing make a sound constantly? rather than just turning to the right.

Initially a failing bearing may only make noise when the load on the wheel increases or decreases in a turn. With the front end of the car in the air and inspection will tell if the bearing is bad.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

gonna jack up the car tonight and see which wheel is giving off more noise.

          Thanks guys.

Mine came from the plastic inner fender starting to come off. Only made noticeable noise in reverse and wheel cranked.

Fuck fuck fuck this is ridiculous. I cant figure out which wheel it is!

Ok so, im getting more noise from the drivers side wheel, which would make sense cause the sound get louder while turning right. BUT when i spin the passenger side wheel, it dosent spin as long or as easily as the drivers side.

It looks like im going to have to take the disks off tomorrow and see where it goes from there.

If you were to replace the wheel bearing, replace them both at the same time. It is a bad idea to have one good and one so so bearing on the car.

pretty sure if turning right it is the left. It allows the left bearing to widen and create noise.

Im leaning towards the same thing. I think the extra resistance from the passenger side might be the disk brake. Im still going to take both disk brakes off tomorrow and just make sure, so i dont end up replacing the wrong side. I really wish i could just do both, but i dont have the spending money for 2. Im already having to buy tools to perform this.

I removed each disk brake to remove variables and I got more noise from the drivers side. I'm pretty sure that's it so I'll just replace it.

Thanks so much for everyone's input. I'll give an other update after the part is replaced.

If u got noice that gets worse when turning to one side and "better" turning the other way its "always" a wheel bearing. Shuold be able to feel the wheel move if you jack up the car and push/pull ontop of it.

Here's the thing. Both bearings have the same amount of age/wear on them, so if one is bad, the other is going to go bad soon as well. You really should replace both of them, not just one.

^ I would really like to do this, but money does not permit me to do so at the moment. I think at the most I will replace the other in about a month or so.

I really appreciate the info guys.
