New clutch slipping after less than two months??!

As the title states. Less than two months ago my throw out bearing started making horrible noises. Took it to my buddies shop and had them replace the TOB and install a new OEM clutch while they were at it. Car is a 318is.

Fast forward to yesterday. Freeways were congested as hell so I whipped a U-turn in the median (illegal I know, don't care). Ran 1st out and when I shifted to second the revs just hung there and didn't really go up or down. Shifted to 3rd and they just reved to near redline. Let off the gas, all seemed normal . Got off the highway and cruising through town it behaves fine. Jump on some backroads to my moms and test it again. Same thing, clutch seems to start slipping around 4k rpm or so.

Now my dilemma is this. The shop that did the work is a small indy shop in my home town. My best friend was the service writer and the same mechanic who I trusted has worked on my cars for 5 years. The shop owner has since gone a bit nutty and they have both left. I could technically get the work warrantied but to be honest I'm really concerned the car will come back in worse condition. The owner is doing the service writing and is a complete nut case and the only real mechanic is a total buffoon. So my friend is still good with the parts supplier he got my clutch from and hopefully, if needed will get it warrantied.

I suppose my question is this: Aside from just a bad clutch, is there anything else that could be causing the slipping? It's an OEM Sachs clutch so it's not a cheap off brand part and I tried to 'break it in' properly. Is there something that may just need adjusted. Not afraid to admit, I have no real idea how clutches actually work and I'm quite ignorant when it comes to transmission service.

    Thanks
    Nick

aside from a bad clutch... hydraulic system, fluid on the clutch(RMS), or improper installation, whether damaging the pressure plate or not resurfacing the flywheel or checking thickness, all of these can be contributing factors to the clutch unable to grab well.
