hey guys...been a member for quite some time been reading allot and i am trying to figure out what should i do for a weekend car , daily driver and track warrior...i know its not going to be easy to combine daily driving with track car but i have to find a compromise...
So the question is ... wich of the engines are better...The m52b28 is one of the choices i was thinking and keep it NA ... with some bolt ons... m3us cams ( if i can get them to Germany)... Cold air , power pulleys , headers , software and exhaust... this mods should bring me between 220 -235 whp... keep the e36 transmission with a stage 2 clutch...this would Imho..be enough for the e30 chasis with no back seats and only 2 racing seats in the front...
There is now the V8 from Bmw... awesome sound more tourque...have no idea what numbers it puts down ... i think its something more unique and maybe more powerfull... the idea is that i am affraid of having another v8 ... had one (s4 4.2 )... the car was eating oil and gas like crazy... i waant reliability and easy maintanence... power should be there but i am willing to sacrifice some hp for better reliability....
Both swaps cost almost the same maybe a bit more for the v8 ...but then the m52 needs mods to reach the power goals that i want...
I would also bee interested in some 1\4 mile times of some setups on e30... i am not a big fan of the quatermile but its the only way to know how fast is the car in a strait line...
I live in a mountain area in germany where we have only twisties and driving arround here is so much fun... also i have Salzburgring 10 miles away from my house... so i´ll be tracking it once in a while...
All input is welcome...i hope i can get the best advice from you guys...
