does this sound right to you guys, so the rotors cant be resurfaced, not enough room, so i am getting all new rotors, new pads, and the drivers front left hub im guessing is making a really bad sound when turning it, and it has really bad play, the shop said, if i keep driving with it like that, the wheel can come off, total for the repair is 900.00? that sounds a bit insane to me? any thoughts?

For the shock bolt try a place like fasten all
For the noise in the front. Are they using an on car lathe with an E30? WEIRD?
Id say you are making out pretty decent. Wheel bearings are $200ish The rotors are $40ish a piece. Im guessing on all this for common BMW parts suppliers. Not sure on the pads though maybe $30 for raybestussux pads. My pads are $100 or so so ya......
So then figure in a couple hours labor say $80 an hour...

wow, really? ok, then i am guessing it is worth it, as he said, if i were to neglect the issues, then it would be more expensive when it finally gives up, thanks bmwguy!

Best thing to do is learn to wrench on your E30. Its cheaper.

You could do brakes yourself for ~200. But for 900 for all that you're getting a decent deal. I've been quoted $850ish just for brakes, which seems to be about the going rate.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

I would have done it all for you for around $500 with parts, good parts too.
