Good suggestion to check the brushes and contacts of course.

Why do u think there is a resistor pack in the first place? Think about it. Max speed is straight through, no resistance because its just ON. A new board will solve your problem but it woulda been a simple fix. Corrosion wasn't a good term, its more like oxidation.

Plastic cover and wiring out of the way, Then the metal cover over the blower itself can come off, the resistor coils are just inside, the motor plugs into the resistors. PITA but while your in there replace the blower too, you don't want to do this again.

Those sound like the aux fan resistors whereas the OP needs one for the HVAC blower

Would bad brushes cause the motor to run only on the high setting? I would have thought the brushes would have affected all speeds.

If I had an M20 I wouldn't need to pull the engine. My "problem" is that I have an s38 and its a little less accommodating against the firewall. Note sig. These are first world problems.

Yeah, no need to pull the engine. If anything, some pull the intake manifold to do the blower fan and/or wiper hardware

Just buy an S50 so it will be worth pulling the engine.

(you shouldn't have to pull the engine, it will take some finagling)

ha, dash will be easier than pulling the engine!

no . unless you want to pull the dash, and pull the blower/ac box inside the car
