    Ignition Key Problem

Okay so I am about to sell my car, and I am looking to fix its biggest issue to attract more buyers

A couple months back the ignition lock broke. The key goes in fine and turns all the way to ignition on.. but it wont turn far enough tot he starter position. Not wanting to have my car towed home, I ripped off the lower panel and took the ignition switch off its position.

Currently to start and drive the car I have to insert a stubby screwdriver into the ignition switch and start the car.. then insert the key to unlock the steering column.

    How can I fix this??

Go to your dealer (with ID and registration), give them the VIN, and order a new tumbler.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Positive. $50 for one with a random key, $60ish if you want BMW to match your original key.

Exellent! I bought a car with the ignition key delete and have been using the supplied screwdriver for years.
