I'm a fan of the snap-on 1/2" cordless impact. I actually use it a lot at the dealership when I'm doing tires, just because its that much easier not to deal with an air hose and its fairly light. Takes most lugs off, and torques wheels to about 80ft/lbs with a decent charge (of course I also torque lugs with a torque wrench).

i just ordered the dewalt 14.4v cordless impact yesterday. should have it in a week or so, then I'll be dismantling a car with it. If I remember I'll post my impressions but I know it's going to be badass. It is capable of 129ft/lbs, can't see why I'd need more than that. Plus my dewalt drill is 14.4v, so now i have 4 batteries which means I'll never run out of juice!

I use a DeWalt DW059 18v 300 ft-lb cordless impact wrench at the track. I use it almost exclusively to take off lug nuts, although it will gently snug lugs back on with a single click of the trigger (I then hand torque them tight with a Snap-On torque wrench.)
The thing is built like a tank and I've never had a battery run out on me or slow down (most use between charges was 192 lugs over 3 days (4 lugs x 4 wheels x 2 off's x 2 on's x 3 days). It's worked in the cold and it's worked in the rain.
Suffice it to say, I'm happy with it.
