someone please help! weird idle and acceleration problems

so i bought an e30 a few weeks ago, and it has a million and 1 problems. right now it isnt starting, (i have a new starter, which i believe is the problem, but havent replaced it yet). so i usually just kickstart it on a hill.i took it for a drive this morning and ran into a few new problems.... the first is that the idle bounces around at a really low rpm.. heres a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHKN-plb5Gg&feature=plcp
the second problem is that it doesnt really want to accelerate. i was in second gear at like 2k rpms and i put my foot down and it didnt accelerate like it usually does.. instead it actually slowed down a bit and back fired a couple times. ill take a video of that later tonight or tomorrow. if anyone has had similar problems, please let me know how you fixed it. and the car is an eta, but the previous owner chipped it so it revs to 7k instead of 5k. do you think that could be the problem? thanks!

Well, there are many things that could go wrong, but I would perform the following simple checks:
1. Smoke test to check for vacuum leaks.
2. Remove spark plugs to see if they are wet with fuel.
3. Check for fuel pressure (Tee a pressure gauge between fuel line and injector rail).
4. Check your fuel pump/filter to make sure that it is delivering fuel.
5. Check the FPR
6. Check to see if the injectors are OEM (19 lbs injectors can cause problem if used with incorrect chip).

There are more things to check, but try these first. It might point you the the right direction.

reving a eta to 7k is no good either

yeah i know. i never rev that high. for the idle and acceleration problem, im gonna try replacing with a stock eta ecu that my buddy is givin me. and im gonna try swappin in a new starter this weekend. hopefully those will get it starting and running well
