After lengthy internet research I haven't found really what I'm after, so I'm here for advice....
I wanted to get the air conditioning back in running order on my first e30, but it's missing the low pressure discharge hose from inside the car at the evaporator that runs down to the compressor. After seeing the prices I decided the one for a few bucks at the junkyard was the best bet. Here is where I got stumped, because I'll admit the only thing I know less about than A/C is different bmw makes and models.
The hose, although looked the same, didn't fit because the female fitting on the end was far larger than the male fitting on the top of my A/C compressor. Also noticeable was the additional fitting up towards the top, which I've guessed to be some sort of fuel cooler. It's got two small donkey dick fittings with rubber hoses on em, and when I removed it, fuel came pouring out.
The e30 I picked from was, as I recall, an '87, with simply "325" on the back. Is this the eta car? I thought the eta cars had the "e" after the 325? The research I've done only confused me more as to what is what. The reason I want to know what model it was is to hopefully find out why the hose won't bolt on.
So what A/C hose did I pick up, and off of what car?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
