    Intermittent turn signals?...

The turn signals work when they're first engaged but stop after 3 or 4 blinks. What usually goes on these? The relay or the whole turn assembly?

If the lights flash when the hazard switch is used, the turn signal switch is bad. If the lights only flash a few times with the hazard switch the flasher module is bad.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
