    '87 325e wont start

A week and a half ago I bought my very first e30 and had been loving it. This morning when I tried to start it before work it cranked for about 1/2 a second then stopped. Now nothing happens at all when I turn the key. No lights on the dash, no dome, no head lights nothing. Its like the car is dead.
I hopped in one of my other cars and headed to work. Here I sit waiting to get off and fix my new baby. Any ideas? I am guessing its a bad battery connection, corroded ground, or a relay.
Anyone have any tips, or ideas that might help me when I get home?
I did a little searching around the threads and didn't find anything like this, but apologize if this is a duplicate thread.

    Thanks!

Clean terminals and try to start the car. If interior lights wont come on, headlights or any lights get the battery tested/replaced. (Testing is free) Or you can try jumping the car with some cables or a charger.

It does sound like your battery is dead. You can easily measure the voltage before doing anything else. You should track down the cause for the drainage. There is a short somewhere.

Why do you feel the battery is dead? I've never had a battery die like that. There is always the chug chug of the low charge battery. This sounded normal for the half second and than there was nothing.

Is there a fuse between the battery and the motor?

I have never seen a battery die like that either. Check main fuse.

All fixed up! It was pretty easy. Battery came unhooked so I fixed that. Still didnt fire so I followed the line from the trunk and found a fuse about halfway to the motor and that fuse was blow. Replaced it and it fired right up.

Thanks for the comments and help guys!

As I get time Ill be sure to post more exciting questions about what I am doing do it :-)
