So the fuel line that runs throught the cooler cracked inside of the cooler. From what I gathered, the fuel line only runs through there seperately from the r12 or whatever. That is obvious. how do you know it cracked inside there? if it did it is probably leaking into the r12 stuff. That is not cool for your engine on your a/c.
But if you are only deleting the whole a/c anyways it does not matter, because you need to reroute your fuel line. Rather than going through the fuel cool when it leaves the FPR, you cut the whole cooler out. Find where it goes from the cooler.
one goes to the fpr. the other goes under the driver side into some metal fuel lines. that is where you are going to route the line from the fpr. PIA, but worth it if you plan on tracking your car or balancing it out for winter drving. but winter in AZ?
That was kinda messy so ask for clarifiacation if needed. ;)

where is the fuel cooler located? is it in the A/C lines, seperate from the condesnor? I want to delete the A/C while the radiator is out, but am cautious if the fuel lines need to be messed with.
I'm just concerned with taking off the bracket and condensor. Are these near the fuel line cooler? (And is this part of every engine, or just certain models?)
thanks guys

Robert -the fuel cooler portion is only a good 6" long. it is a tube inside a tube. the fuel line is the inner tube and is cooled by the reefer outside of it. (on the passenger side fender near wear the " optional battery tray" is.
bwanac- yes the fuel line inside the ac line cracked open, I know this because I went to take out the codenser because it was all bent up and I was going to replace it, my reefer was already gone so I thought it would be fine..........I pulled the condenser and a gasoline/ac mixture came out ( I had the worst headache, could barely breathe, and got a bad bloody nose!) anyway it turns out my compressor is full of this crap too! so everythings trash :( I was planning on recharging it too. :( thanks for the info on re-routing. :D

amen. thats the easiest and most logical way to solve to this problem.
My idea now is my head is going to be off, radiator out, so might as well get that condensor out NOW. But then I could go back later and take care of the lines.
Hopefully there isn't a fuel cooler.....we'll see.
p.s. thank for your help guys

Ya why run fuel lines on the Exhuast side of the engine where if they burst they dump onto the exhuast most liklely cuasing a fire, where as if you just run them on the driver's side then if they burst there is a lot less chance of fire. It would only cost $10 at most for the new fuel line at BMW and would make the engine bay look a little cleaner.85 325e 2.7 ITB'd stroker

I have nothing to worry about then. Just unbolt the compressor and start ripping shit out!
j/k, I can take my time, but it's better to know I don't have much more to worry about then rusty nuts or letting out the freon. (At a shop, not killing the environ)
