If its a late model be aware that the plastic block is on the back side of the drive mechanism. Its held on by a bolt that is visible on the front side in a slotted hole but the slot doesn't give you enough adjustment to allow the window to go down far enough. Do not remove so much material that the top edge of the window goes below the seal on the door.

This is an easy one, Remove the door panel, lower the window all the

way, look for the plastic block that stops the window at the bottom,

remove the block and remove as much material as you need to get the

window down all the way, don't remove too much at a time.

Got tired of the dent in my elbow/arm and dug into it, not a difficult task.

    91 318i by the way.

That's the way it is on my cars. M3 doesn't go in all the way, cabby does.

    I dunno
Do verts and coupes even use the same glass and regulator?

IIRC my windows go all the way down

88ix's definitely have early style regulators, other 88's probably do as well.

mine all go down. I hate new cars that only let you roll them down 1/2 way. stupid people..

K's iX has the early style regulators. If you have a little round cap on the door panel, you have early regulators. Very easy to tell.

    IIRC, they are interchangeable.

It especially sucks since I don't have properly functioning AC and always have the window down, so I usually just put my elbow inside of it and put my hand on the top of the door frame... One of these days, I'll take the door card off and take a look. Unless one of you more e30 abundant people have a parts car that is already dismantled to the point it'd be easy!
