    Part numbers

I need a couple of part numbers if anyone can find them for me.

A few months back, I put a UUC short shifter in my car. Don't worry, I was going to save my money and go with a z3/z4 shifter, but I got this one used with cartridge bearings upgrade and delrin carrier bushings for $100. It works great, but I still have some shifter slop from side to side. When I put the sort shift kit in, I noticed the shift rod (part going from shifter to transmission) and shift rod attachment at the transmission were severly worn, allowing the side to side movement. I didn't bother to replace them at the time and thought I would see how it worked with the wear I previously described.

Well, the side to side slop is driving me crazy. It's time to replace the shift rod and whatever the hell part it's attached to at the transmission. So, does anyone know the part numbers, or can anyone refer me to an online source to look it up? Thanks in advance.

lol, I just did mine cuz it BROKE... anyways...

side-to-side slop won't be due to the selector rod... very unlikely.

does the lever hit the console in reverse? if it does it's probably the knuckle thing on the transmission side of the selector rod

if you want to get a new selector rod anyways, it's $28 from the dealer, the knuckle thing is ~$30, and the retaining pin which is like a few dollars

did you change the carrier bushings? i couldn't get the clip off to change them

btw, if you get the knuckle thing, don't buy the flat circular compression clip since the new design has a compression ring included with it

It's the selector rod for sure, and, like you say, probably the knuckle also. When I had the rod off and was putting the short shift in, you could see the wear on the selector rod where it went through the knuckle. Instead of being perfectly cylindrical, it tapered a few mm on both ends. Definately need to replace both. I'm going to order from BMA, and the parts aren't listed on the website, but they will probably still have them. Getting the right part nubmers beforehand would help.

And, yes, I changed the carrier bushings. My SSK had the delrin ones included. Also went with a new nylon cup.
