I have a early production 86 eta, and I need to replace the si board, can I use a board out of a 89? Also how do I tell if I have a vdo or the other type of cluster?? I did search, but nothing for the early years came up - Graham

How many red LEDs do you have on your SI board now? If you have 3 you need an early board. If you only have one red then you can use the one from the 89.
The brand of the cluster is stamped right above the CHECK light in the center. VDO or MotoMeter.Adam Fogg- '88 M3
