ANYTHING would be helpful. i cant believe it, but its something thats gonna heve to get fixed ASAP. thanks

I would bet that the jack point is rusted out, or under the fuse box in the engine comp. is rusted out. if not those 2 spots, its probably under the splash shield in the front wheelwell. to check it out, peel the carpet back, and take a look at th3e mess that is there! seen a ton of them. I am one of the few welders for the after bamberg inspection failing-- when the BMWs fail for rust. they are really hard on rust here for the army inspections.

        1) Sunroof drain is clogged, and your flooding through the speaker hole in the footwell
        2) Splash shield, as Mike mentioned.
        3) Under fuse box, as Mike mentioned
        4) Cowel, behind/below the wiper covers/air vents. Rusted out. BTDT.

I'm wagering on 1, 3, or 4. Since it occured when the car was sitting, and not driving.
        Below the radar...

All of these are good places to look. Another place to check is the drains in the rocker panel, both front and rear. I had a e30 come in that front drains were crushed shut and covered in dirt so that the front drain did not even drain at all, the water would need to travel all the way to the back drains to leave the vehicle. So much water was pooling up that it leaked out through the holes where those little plastic clips hold the body wiring harness.

          Hope that's helpful.

Also, check your windshield.. Sometimes the sealant around the edges get old and will leak, and cracks in the windhsield also leak but obviously you would notice that first.
