    Possible miss-fire?

over the last 3 days my 90 325ic with 89xxx miles has been choking randomly. when this happens the check engine light flashs but then randomly it goes away. Att first it was spiratic but now it happens almost at least 2 times a minute when on the highway going about 65 but strangly if i go slow down it happens less often and if i go above 80 it normaly stops... it normaly happens around 3000rpms which is about 55-60mph with my 4.10 in 5th. Im scared to take my car out anywhere but it m daily driver and i need to diagnose this fast because i have work and school.

My first suspicions would be a fuel delivery problem or a bad timing reference sensor. Replace the CPS with a new part and tee a gauge into rail supply line, zip tie it to a windshield wiper and see what the rail pressure is at speed and load.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

im changing my spark plugs tomorrow and im ordering wires tonight to see how that goes because the wires are still original. if not im going to swap out my fuel pump with a known good one to see if that fixes it.
